We are more than just a school

Late Rajarambapu Patil, an active participant of the Indian independence movement, envisioned the educational scenario of independent India when India were yet to get the independence. Rajarambapu, a law graduate and fortunate to have studied at Pune and Vadodara, could see the necessity and urgency of education in rural India to leverage the advantages of independence. Staring from his village, he, along with his companions, established ‘Azad Vidyalaya’ in 1945 at Kasegaon, in Walwe taluka of Sangli district in Western Maharashtra.
